The Albuquerque/Rio Rancho Color Mural is a wall-sized mural that has been available over the past few years by Images Plus. The 8 foot tall mural contains aerial photography combined with registered GIS data such as roads, boundaries, overlays, as well as labeling.

With the tandem of an orthorectified mosaic and linework in coordinates, we created the mural in Illustrator with the help of a plug-in called Mapublisher. Mapublisher allowed us to integrate the many layers of data required for the project and align it to the coordinates of the mosaic. We then took advantage of Photoshop's robust effects and blending options to create a piece that is not only presents accurate information but displays it with vivid colors and professional styling.
